The Multidisciplinay Spanish Group of Digestive Cancer (GEMCAD) was created, in November 2006, with the goal of independent studies in the field of gastrointestinal oncology.
Among its 426 members, of hospitals throughout Spain, are represented the various specialties involved in the management of patients with gastrointestinal tumors.
GEMCAD aims to develop independent multidisciplinary research projects in digestive cancer, to promote greater knowledge in the diagnosis, staging, treatment and prevention of these diseases. The group collaborates with other scientific societies, as SEDIA and AEG, and has the support of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM).
